Tolis Groups BRU Server is one of the first companies to enter into the Mac OS X Server and Client platform for backup and archive solutions. With more than a dozen Operating Systems which it supports, backup to different medium such as Disk and Tape, this solution is great for small, medium, and larger environments.

The solution works with all connectivity methods. From SCSI, to Fibre, and Firewire, and more this solution works well and backs up almost any media. With support for Apple's XSAN solution and its ability to manage large and small files alike, this solution should fit the bill to suit your needs without emptying your pocket book.

The back end server software has the ability to support both individual tape drives, library automation systems, autoloaders and single or dual tape drives. BRU server platform also works with the following media types:
• Direct to Disk
• Disk to Tape - (upload from stage)
• AIT Media - Version 1, 2, 3, 4, and SAIT
• DLT Media - Version 1, 2, 3, 4, and SDLT
• LTO Media - Version 1, 2, 3, and 4
• VXA - Version 2 and 320

BRU Server comes in many different configurations and support options. For Windows based servers, there is the Open File Manager system, which allows BRU to backup off of live SQL based services without first stopping and exporting the SQL data. This is a great add-on to the already powerful backup system of BRU

The server runs on a variety of different platforms including Mac OS X, Mac OS X Server (Intel and Power PC), UNIX, Solaris, Linux, and IRIX based systems. The server is easily managed from the Console Application (currently not available for Windows based clients) and is able to be setup and configured through the hosts underlying UNIX system via SSH and the bru-server.console and bru-server.cmd applications.
